Accidents between scooters and cars On Friday, June 26, around 7:40 AM, the central dispatch center received a report of an accident between a scooter and a car on Kaya Nikiboko Zuid. Upon arrival of the police, it turned out that the scooter had rear-ended the car. In accordance with the “botsen is blazen” (colliding is blowing) policy, a breathalyzer test was administered to both drivers, and there was no indication of alcohol use. An ambulance transported the scooter driver to the hospital for further medical treatment.

On Friday, June 26, around 8:10 AM, the central dispatch center received a report of an accident between a scooter and a car on E.E.G. Boulevard. The scooter driver failed to brake in time and hit the back of the car. In accordance with the “botsen is blazen” policy, a breathalyzer test was conducted on both drivers, and no indication of alcohol use was found. An ambulance transported the scooter driver to the hospital for medical treatment. Furthermore, the scooter driver received a fine for driving without valid insurance. Police directed traffic at the scene.

Arrest and house search for violation of the Opium Act In the early morning hours of Friday, June 26, the Special Task Force (Groep Bijzondere Opdrachten, GBO) arrested a 49-year-old man with the initials G.A.B. on Kaya Maria for violating the BES Opium Act. The suspect’s arrest is related to an ongoing investigation in which narcotics were found during a house search at a residence on Kaya Maria on Sunday, June 14. After arresting the suspect, KPCN detectives conducted a search at the home on the aforementioned street and confiscated items relevant to the case. The investigation is ongoing.

Arrest for failure to comply with police orders and public intoxication On Friday, June 26, around 2:00 AM, a patrol observed a fight between several individuals near a hospitality establishment on Kaya Bonaire. Police separated the individuals to prevent further fighting. The situation then calmed down, and the crowd began to leave the area. Meanwhile, it was noted that a man repeatedly tried to cause trouble with another man. To prevent the situation from escalating, the man was ordered several times to leave the area. The suspect refused to comply with the police orders to leave and was arrested. Around 3:00 AM, the 51-year-old man with the initials J.G.M. was arrested on Kaya Bonaire for non-compliance with police orders and public intoxication. The man attempted to fight the police, resisted arrest, threatened an officer, and tried to take the officer’s firearm. This attempt failed, and the weapon remained secure in its holster.

Theft from containers On Thursday, June 25, a report was filed for vandalism and theft from three different containers on a construction site located on Boulevard Gobernador N. Debrot. Unknown individuals gained access to the containers and stole various tools. The case is under investigation.

Burglary at an auto repair shop On Wednesday, June 24, a report was filed for a burglary at a garage located on Kaya Nikiboko Nort. Unknown persons gained access to the property and stole a quantity of tools and machinery. The case is under investigation.

House search and arrest In the early morning hours of Thursday, June 25, the Special Task Force (GBO) and KPCN detectives conducted a house search at a residence on Kaya Cauca. The search is related to the investigation into an armed robbery that took place at the post office on May 6, 2025. In connection with the ongoing investigation, a 30-year-old man with the initials D.L.L. was arrested. Items relevant to the investigation were also confiscated. The investigation into this case continues.
