The faction of the Patriotic Aruban Party (PPA) voted against the 2026 National Budget of the Country of Aruba due to the lack of responses from the Government to essential questions related to the budget.
According to parliamentarian Eduard Pieter of the PPA faction, the party could not support the budget, considering that to this day the Government of Aruba has still not provided written answers to the questions submitted by the PPA. Pieter emphasized that transparency and clarity are fundamental elements in a budgetary process, and that without the necessary information, Parliament cannot make a responsible decision.
The PPA expressed its concern about the way the process was handled and indicated that the lack of communication from the Government contributed to their decision to vote against the budget. The Government of Aruba has several questions that need to be answered and has failed to do so.
