As part of the official launch of the “National Day to Care for Aruba,” Serlimar and CEDE Aruba have confirmed their commitment to the initiative and issued a call to the community to actively participate in the major national cleanup action taking place on Saturday, July 25. During the press conference at Dam di Moko, Serlimar Director Michel Henriquez indicated that although Serlimar dedicates much of its daily work to keeping Aruba clean, the challenge cannot be met by one single entity. Henriquez explained that Serlimar works every day to collect trash and maintain various areas of Aruba, but the results the community wants to see require the participation of all citizens. “July 25 is an important opportunity for us all to work together. If the Government, institutions, and the community join forces, we can achieve great results and give a new boost to the care of our island.” The Director of Serlimar expressed his gratitude to the Government for involving the company in the initiative, highlighting that only through collaboration between all sectors will a lasting change be possible.

CEDE Aruba Director Daniel Tecklenborg also emphasized that caring for Aruba is a shared responsibility among citizens, families, organizations, businesses, and the community. According to Tecklenborg, CEDE Aruba, as an organization that works closely with various foundations, NGOs, and community groups, enthusiastically received the invitation to be part of the national movement. “The cleanliness of our country is the responsibility of us all. Every family, every citizen, every neighbor, every organization, and the private sector as well can do their part.”

To facilitate participation, CEDE Aruba will use its digital platform, ArubaVolunteers.org, where individuals, neighborhood groups, businesses, foundations, and volunteers can register to participate in the various cleanup actions being organized throughout Aruba. In collaboration with the Bureau City Inspector, different sites in need of more attention will be identified so that volunteers can work in areas with the greatest need for cleaning.

CEDE Aruba invites the entire community to see how they can contribute, whether in their own neighborhood, around their home, at a club, business, or organization. With the collaboration between the Government, Serlimar, CEDE Aruba, public bodies, and the private sector, the “National Day to Care for Aruba” seeks to create a national movement of shared responsibility, encouraging the entire community to contribute to an Aruba that is cleaner, more beautiful, and more pleasant to live in and visit.
