Through this submission, I wish to publicly draw attention to the lack of respect and the unjust delays currently occurring within the Complaints Commission (Klachtencommissie) of the Horacio Oduber Hospital (HOH). Many months have passed since an official hearing was held on January 15, 2026, and to this day, the commission has structurally failed to send the letter containing the official results of this session.
This is not merely an administrative failure, but a great lack of respect toward citizens and especially toward our elderly, whom I make it my primary mission to keep properly informed. After demanding an answer and expressing my concerns, I received a reaction from the HOH Quality and Safety staff. In this response, they apologized for the delay and openly admitted that the commission has a very large backlog in processing complaints and in drafting decisions (beschikking).
According to the information provided to me, the decision has already been drafted and is currently undergoing a review process. Once this review is complete, it will be sent to the Board of Directors (RvB) so they can make a final decision and subsequently contact me.
However, this reality raises a much larger concern for me and for the community. If HOH cannot properly manage its own complaint offices, and if they cannot complete their own internal structural work, how do they intend to function after the merger with IMSAN? It is logically impossible to handle a larger structure if your own foundation is in such a massive structural delay.
This situation is becoming very tedious—a process that is far too long and tiresome, where delays are used structurally as an excuse. HOH’s press department may have tried to threaten me in the past to stop me from writing, but I want to make it very clear that I only stopped temporarily due to other personal commitments, and not because of fear. For some, money may be the only motivation, but for me, the well-being and rights of our elderly come first.
I hope that, structurally, this commission and the HOH management assume their responsibility and provide me with the answer and clarity I am legally entitled to as soon as possible.
