On Saturday, November 22, 2025, the second edition of the Feria di Koriente took place. Several local companies were present, including Kooyman, Blue Sky Solar, Dynaf, Akkermans Auto Supplies, and Qredits. The Directorate of Social Affairs and Welfare (Directie Samenleving en Zorg) was also in attendance to inform visitors about the energy allowance.
Many interested attendees visited the various booths to learn more about energy and how to use it efficiently. Throughout the evening, several prizes were raffled, including air conditioners, washing machines, refrigerators, and even a solar panel installation.
Project coordinator David Lee Winklaar looks back on a valuable and interactive day.
“We’re not there yet, but this is one of the many bigger steps we as a directorate are taking. As a community, we have no control over the electricity price, but we can choose practical ways to reduce our consumption. That’s why we want to raise awareness in our community through activities like this.”
The Feria di Koriente is part of the You’ve got the power project, an initiative of the Directorate of Social Affairs and Welfare aimed at raising awareness about electricity use. The main goal of the project is to help people reduce their electricity consumption and thereby lower their costs.
The Directorate of Social Affairs and Welfare extends its gratitude to all companies that participated in the Feria di Koriente.
