The foundation wishes to preserve biodiversity on Bonaire and to demonstrate that this is possible on a five-hectare plot. To help nature, they came up with the idea of planting their local wood in a greenhouse that would be used to reinforce Bonaire.
So they planted 500 trees in Klein Bonaire and distributed 700 palm trees for free. Each week, 20 volunteers come to help at Terra Barra. In the past, members of the Rotary Club Bonaire (RCB) helped Tera Barra with the installation of a greenhouse.
With a new educational project, Terra Barra wishes to show how to raise and maintain goats in Bonaire, without them eating the vegitation and destroying the balance of nature. The Rotary Club Bonaire is now supporting this project with a donation of $2,200. The initiate, Mr. Johan van Blerk, explained the work of the foundation and received the symbolic check with words of gratitude.
