The Aruba Hotel & Tourism Association has certified a large group of supervisors and managers who completed exclusive workshops offered by AHATA in collaboration with the Caribbean Hotel & Tourism Association Education Foundation (CHTAEF).

Supervisors from restaurants, hotels, timeshares, insurance, retail, vacation rentals, and tours participated in the interactive and practical training to elevate their ability to balance authority and staff motivation. During the certification ceremony, the success of the participants in the workshop “Own Your Supervisory Authority Responsibly” was honored—a program focused on empowering leaders to execute their supervisory and leadership role in a responsible and effective manner.

The certification ceremony opened with remarks by Mrs. Tisa LaSorte, President & CEO of AHATA, who expressed that she was highly impressed by the commitment of each participant who accepted the responsibility of supervision and to grow in their career. The graduates join a group of more than 450 individuals who have previously graduated from this course.

His Excellency Mr. Wendrick C. Cicilia, Minister of Tourism, Transport, and Labor of Aruba, also delivered a motivational speech to all participants and guests present. In his message, the Minister thanked AHATA for investing in the professional development of those taking on leadership roles within our tourism industry.

Mrs. Louise John and Mrs. Suzanne Shillingford-Brooks, instructors from CHTAEF, joined Mrs. LaSorte to present the certificates in an atmosphere of appreciation and celebration.

The evening concluded with a reception where participants and guests could continue to celebrate, network, and exchange experiences with one another. During the event, it was evident that supervisors from different companies enjoyed the opportunity to get to know each other and learn from each other’s experiences.

The success of these workshops represents another important achievement for AHATA, reflecting their vision and continuous commitment to promoting a responsible tourism that emphasizes quality and to helping Aruba’s workforce develop their careers.

AHATA thanks Eagle Aruba Resort and La Cabana Beach Resort for their valuable contribution to the program in alliance with CHTAEF.
