Serious Concern Over Hospital Management and Lack of Action by the Chair of the Health Commission

Dangui Oduber 2

There is growing concern regarding the management of the hospital. This situation has taken on a more serious nature after the Public Health Inspection (Inspectie Volksgezondheid) sent an urgent warning letter (“brandbrief”) to the hospital management, requesting certain investigations that the health authority wishes to conduct. For its part, the hospital responded to this letter arguing that the accusations are unfounded, as indicated by Member of Parliament Dangui Oduber.

To bring clarity to this matter, the Chairman of the Health Commission in Parliament, Mr. Gino Goeloe, was asked to call a meeting with both the Public Health Inspection and the hospital management. The goal of this meeting was for the inspection to explain the reason for the letter and the necessary investigations, while allowing the hospital to present its side of the story.

However, the parliamentary process is not functioning as it should, as to this day, this meeting has not been called. This leaves an atmosphere of uncertainty surrounding what is truly happening at the hospital, especially considering that neither the inspection nor the hospital has been heard yet.

Therefore, an urgent appeal is made to the Chair of the Health Commission, Gino Goeloe, to call this emergency meeting to address the delicate and urgent matters regarding public health.
