The Aruba Tourism Authority (A.T.A.) expresses its deepest appreciation to Ms. Esther Iglesias, affectionately known as “Tita”, who, after a distinguished career, is now retiring to enjoy her well-deserved rest.
Tita Iglesias became part of the A.T.A. team on November 7, 2016, serving with passion and commitment in her role as Events and Sponsorship Coordinator. She was known as a cheerful person with a constant smile.
Tita Iglesias has worked in the tourism industry for 41 years, bringing her experience, knowledge, and leadership to A.T.A.
Before joining A.T.A., she served as Commercial Manager at Insel Air Aruba, leading operations and expansion to 11 destinations.
She was also the Romance Coordinator at Hyatt Regency Aruba, specializing in wedding and event planning.
Her career also included leadership positions in marketing and public relations at Sonesta Resort and Crystal & Seaport Casinos, among others.
Tita’s dedication was recognized with numerous awards, including Manager of the Quarter and several others from the Hyatt Corporation.
To celebrate Tita’s legacy, a special event was held on November 5, 2025.
Ronella Croes, CEO of A.T.A., delivered a short speech sharing her pleasant experiences working with Tita and what her contributions meant for A.T.A.:
“In Tita, we saw the perfect person to complement a team that was, at the time, made up of many young professionals. Having someone with seniority was essential to guide and support them. Tita – you did not disappoint. You continued to serve Aruba’s tourism with great dedication!” said Ronella Croes.
Patrick Melchiors, Destination Services Manager, also spoke at the celebration, saying:
“Tita, your wisdom and knowledge not only shaped projects but also the people who had the privilege of working with you. You leave behind a true legacy — one that will stay with us for a long time.”
The Minister of Tourism, Mr. Wendrick Cicilia, also shared his own experience working with Tita Iglesias, expressing his gratitude for the lessons he learned from her and still applies today.
Tita has made a positive impact on everyone who had the pleasure of working with her.
After all the speeches and unforgettable memories of Tita Iglesias, a special video prepared by the A.T.A. team was shown, followed by a toast in her honor, musical serenades, and a touch of our beloved Carnival.
The A.T.A. is deeply grateful to Tita Iglesias for her valuable contribution and unconditional dedication to promoting and developing Aruba’s tourism.
Every stage of life has its purpose, and the entire A.T.A. team wishes Tita Iglesias all the best in this beautiful new chapter of her life.
