The Aruba Tourism Authority (A.T.A.) monitors various trends and visitor profiles of those choosing Aruba as their destination. One of the profiles analyzed is the different generations visiting our island, as each generation has its own preferences and travel styles.
Year-to-Date (YTD) data through August 2026 shows that Gen X (born between 1965 and 1980) represents the largest visitor segment at 26.4% of the market. This is followed by Millennials (1981-1996) at 24.3%, Baby Boomers (1946-1964) at 23.0%, and Gen Z (1997-2012) at 17.4%. This information helps A.T.A. better understand who is visiting Aruba, enabling the tourism industry to continually adapt strategies, products, and experiences to meet the needs of different traveler generations.

Stayover, Length of Stay, and Market Share
In August 2026, Aruba welcomed a total of 145,750 stayover visitors and recorded 967,001 stayover nights, with an Average Length of Stay (ALOS) of 6.6 nights.
The market distribution during August showed North America remaining the primary market, accounting for 69.6% of all arrivals. South America contributed 22.3%, Europe 5.8%, while other regions made up 2.3% of total visitors. The United States was the largest individual market for August with 96,790 visitors, while Argentina recorded 14,901 visitors. The Netherlands led the European market with 2,720 visitors.
Short-Term Vacation Rentals (STVR)
A.T.A. continues to monitor the Short-Term Vacation Rentals (STVR) sector through the Lighthouse platform. For August 2026, the average occupancy rate was 57%, while the Average Daily Rate (ADR) for the month was USD 359. Additionally, the sector generated a total revenue of approximately USD 36.8 million during August 2026.
