Clima5

In Curaçao, the effects of climate change and nature taking its course are already noticeable. The Prime Minister of Curaçao, Gilmar Pisas, indicated that on October 29, 2025, a development was observed where a washout occurred on the southern side of the island, affecting several beaches. The Minister of General Affairs, Agriculture, Environment and Nature, Gilmar Pisas, instructed an evaluation of the damage and the start of repair works.

The affected beaches are: Boca Samí, Playa Grandi (Playa Piskadó) in Westpunt, Playa Kenepa Grandi and Playa Kenepa Chikito, Daaibooi, Lagun, and Sta. Cruz. The necessary procedures have already been initiated to hire specialized contractors to carry out the repair and maintenance work on the beaches. It is important to emphasize that the beaches will not be closed during the period in which the works are being executed.
Thanks to the efforts of our team and the specialized contractors, work is being done to restore all damaged areas as quickly as possible.
