Coast Guard Rescues Lost Tourist

Coast Guard Rescues

the Maritime Operations Center of the Coast Guard received a notification from the Curaçao Police Force indicating that a tourist was lost. A man had gone hiking in the San Pedro area near Tera Kora and became disoriented. The police immediately set out to assist him, but the man was located on a fairly high cliff, making the spot difficult to reach. Consequently, the police requested assistance from the Coast Guard.

The Coast Guard deployed its helicopter to assist the man in the area. After the man was hoisted from the cliff, he was transported to Hato Airport. During his hike, he sustained several injuries and also showed signs of dehydration. Upon arrival at Hato, he was handed over to the ambulance services for medical treatment.
