The Word of God tells us:
“You will keep in perfect peace those whose minds remain in You, because they trust in You. Trust in the Lord forever, for in the Lord God we have an eternal Rock.” (Isaiah 26:3–4)
Trust in God is the most important part of our faith, because without trust there is no hope. Without trust it means that we do not believe in God’s power. His mercy toward us is great, and His love for us is eternal. God never abandons His children.
Therefore let us draw near to the throne of grace with confidence, so that we may receive mercy and find grace to help in time of need. (Hebrews 4:16)
This is our guarantee: whatever we may be going through, if we approach God’s throne of grace with confidence, without doubt and with faith, we will be blessed. God always blesses and helps those who trust in Him. Do not forget what God did for Shadrach, Meshach, and Abednego in the blazing furnace, and what God did for Daniel in the lions’ den. There is no difficult situation from which God cannot deliver you.
For the grace of God has appeared, bringing salvation to all people. It teaches us to deny ungodliness and worldly desires, and to live self-controlled, righteous, and holy lives in this present age, while we wait for the blessed hope and the appearing of the glory of our great God and Savior Jesus Christ. He gave Himself for us to redeem us from all wickedness and to purify for Himself a special people, eager to do good works. (Titus 2:11–14)
Isaiah 43:25 explains that we are forgiven by grace, saying:
“I, even I, am He who blots out your transgressions for My own sake, and I will remember your sins no more.”
Ephesians 2:8–9 reminds us that we are saved by grace, saying:
“For by grace you have been saved through faith, and this is not from yourselves; it is the gift of God, not the result of works, so that no one may boast.” In other words, no one can do anything to earn salvation.
We are sustained by His grace:
“For it is God who works in you both to will and to act according to His good pleasure.” (Philippians 2:13)
We are healed by His grace:
Psalm 147:3 says that He heals the brokenhearted and binds up their wounds.
We are transformed through His grace:
Romans 12:2 says: “Do not be conformed to this world, but be transformed by the renewing of your mind, so that you may test and approve what God’s will is—His good, pleasing, and perfect will.”
His grace keeps us from stumbling:
“Now to Him who is able to keep you from falling and to present you blameless before the presence of His glory with great joy—to the only God our Savior through Jesus Christ our Lord—be glory, majesty, dominion, and authority, before all time and now and forever. Amen.” (Jude 1:24–25)
Dear beloved ones, since you know this beforehand, be careful that you are not carried away by the error of wicked people and fall from your firm position. But grow in the grace and knowledge of our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ. To Him be the glory now and forever. (2 Peter 3:17–18)
Through His grace, we serve one another.
Sincerely,
Pastor Marcel Balootje
