Aruba has unfortunately recorded its fourth fatal traffic accident for the year 2026.
Last night, Tuesday, March 4, 2026, at 10:54 PM, the Police Central Dispatch received a report of an accident that took place on the road of Seroe Tijshi.
A police patrol, ambulance, and traffic specialists were immediately dispatched to the scene of the incident. Upon arrival, authorities found a silver Daihatsu Boon that had overturned, along with an injured female driver.
According to preliminary information, the driver was attempting to overtake another vehicle, but at a certain moment she lost control of her car, which resulted in the accident.
Ambulance medical personnel arrived at the scene, stabilized the driver, and transported her to the hospital for advanced medical care. Traffic specialists then took over the case and continued their investigation to determine exactly how the accident occurred.
On Wednesday afternoon, police received a notification from hospital staff that the female driver had unfortunately passed away as a result of her injuries.
At 1:00 PM, a doctor officially confirmed the death of Gilliane Russiane Albert, born in Aruba on May 19, 1998, who was 27 years old.
With this tragedy, the number of fatal traffic victims in Aruba for 2026 has risen to four.
