God’s goodness is forever

Pastor 1

Many people sing about the goodness of God, many talk about it, but let us take a moment and ask ourselves how far God’s goodness reaches. There is nothing more beautiful, precious, and greater than the goodness of God.

Look at how much evil people commit, look at how much evil people plan; people do wrong to each other and even do wrong to themselves, as if they do not realize the harm they are doing. People dig holes for others to fall into, but do not forget that when you dig a hole for someone else, you yourself end up falling into it.

Yet in contrast, God continues with His goodness: His mercy, His love, and His compassion are seen every day in this world. Even when people do evil, God brings goodness out of it to demonstrate His love and His power, because He is almighty.

In Mark 10:18 Jesus says: “Why do you call Me good? No one is good except God alone.” Therefore, let us all imitate the humility and goodness of our Lord Jesus Christ. Let us not reject one another, let us not throw stones while hiding our hands, let us not pay back evil with evil, let us not bring division, let us not discriminate; let us imitate God in His goodness, because His goodness breaks every obstacle in our path.

Did you know that even in your dreams God protects you? Did you know that God is the one who watches over your home, your marriage, and your family? Did you know that God is the one who protects you on the streets in unsafe traffic? Did you know that your heart and your breath are in God’s hands?

In Ephesians 3:19-21 it is written: “and to know the love of Christ which surpasses knowledge, that you may be filled up to all the fullness of God. Now to Him who is able to do far more abundantly beyond all that we ask or think, according to the power that works within us, to Him be the glory in the church and in Christ Jesus to all generations forever and ever. Amen.”

Wake up in the morning with the thought of doing good, and do not let anyone use you as an instrument to do evil. Wake up in the morning speaking well, wishing well, so that you may see good; sow good so that you may reap good, because whatever a person sows, that will they also reap.

Speak blessings at home, on the street, and especially at your workplace, because blessing attracts blessing. Keep yourself faithful to God, and you will be rewarded. You will find criticism everywhere, but through criticism we learn to extract what is good and abstain from what is evil. Jesus Christ was criticized while doing good, He was mistreated while doing good, He died on the cross while doing good; that is why we see that the goodness of God is matchless.

Look at what God tells us in Isaiah 41:10: “Do not fear, for I am with you; Do not be anxiously dismayed, for I am your God. I will strengthen you, yes, I will help you, I will uphold you with My righteous right hand.”

This applies to everyone who seeks God and does good, because they will see the goodness of God. God’s mercy is great and God forgives, as it is written in Hebrews 8:12: “For I will be merciful to their iniquities, and I will remember their sins no more.”

The Lord is faithful, the Lord is just, the Lord is God, filled with goodness.
