Minister Plenipotentiary Drs. Gracita R. Arrindell on Thursday, August 13th, 2026, welcomed former Governor of Sint Maarten, Drs. Eugene B. Holiday, for a courtesy visit.
The meeting featured a cordial exchange on matters of mutual interest and developments concerning Sint Maarten.
Minister Arrindell expressed appreciation for the visit and the opportunity to engage with Drs. Holiday, who served two terms after becoming the country’s first Governor.
Discussions also focused on the importance of documenting and preserving key moments in Sint Maarten’s history.
Drs. Holiday, drawing on his public service and private sector experience, and his work as an author, emphasized the value of recording the island’s experiences, developments, and perspectives for present and future generations. He is the author of “Nation Building: Our Challenges, Resilience and Responsibility,” which reflects Sint Maarten’s development and nation-building.
Minister Arrindell said she was pleased to welcome Drs. Holiday, noting:
