The field of the baseball club Less Indians will get a new destination. The club’s board and Member of Parliament Peter Silberie have reached an agreement on a plan for social housing and modern sports facilities. The government will take over management of the site to make this possible.
Housing and sports
In a meeting with the MP, the Less Indians board itself proposed to give the land back to the government. The board members want the government to carry out the development plan in collaboration with the Fundashon Cas Bonairiano (FCB). The aim of this plan is to use the entire site for the construction of social housing.
MP Silberie supports this plan. The government wants to include space for sports and recreation in every new construction project. This fits well with the neighborhood, as many homes have recently been built for various target groups.
A place for everyone
There is already a sports area on the site that is frequently used by children and adults. The government wants to improve and expand the sports facilities there. This will create an area where neighborhood residents can live comfortably and practice sports together. All partners will now work together to develop the final plan for the site.
