Arrests for driving under the influence of alcohol In the past few days, police detained two (2) drivers for driving under the influence of alcohol. On Friday, July 24, at around 2:25 AM, a 21-year-old woman with initials F.F. was arrested on Kaya Grandi. A patrol stopped the suspect in her vehicle after observing that she was swerving across the road. A breathalyzer test was administered, revealing that she had consumed more alcohol than permitted by law. She received a 2-hour driving ban. On Thursday, July 23, at around 10:40 PM, a 72-year-old man with initials M.B.E. was arrested on Kaya Kampana. A patrol stopped the suspect in his vehicle after noticing dangerous driving behavior. During the check, the suspect displayed various characteristics of a person under the influence of alcohol. A breathalyzer test was administered, revealing that he had consumed more alcohol than permitted by law. He received a 3-hour driving ban. Both suspects were transported to the police station to continue with the corresponding procedures. They will also receive an official police report (prosesverbal) there.

Accident between car and moped On Wednesday, July 22, at around 10:55 PM, the central control room (meldkamer) received a notification about an accident on Kaya Grandi at the intersection with Kaya Albert Engelhardt. Upon the police’s arrival, it turned out that a car and a moped had collided head-on. An ambulance transported the moped rider to the hospital for medical treatment. The moped rider could not show a driver’s license and received a fine for this. In accordance with the “crash means breath test” (botsen is blazen) policy, breathalyzer tests were conducted on both drivers, and there was no indication of alcohol use.
