Betico Croes, may he rest in peace, was not only a political leader, but the voice that ensured we have our Status Aparte today. Betico knew how to raise awareness and unite the Aruban people. With courage, determination, and a deep love for his homeland, Betico fought for Aruba’s autonomy, dignity, and self-determination. He left behind a legacy of peaceful struggle, dialogue, and faith in the future of our people.
Thanks to his struggle, we all have the freedom to decide our own future. “Betico Day” is a moment to reflect on what we have achieved, but also to remember that the fight for a more just, united, and strong Aruba never ends. Betico taught us that a united people can never be defeated.
We invite everyone to come and celebrate Betico Day together with us at the MEP headquarters. Come share, remember, celebrate, and honor the man who changed the course of our history. Together, we keep the memory of Betico Croes alive.
