Two witnesses to be heard and psychological report ordered : Woman who killed two people with car remains incarcerated

Ax Fatal 05

This afternoon at 2:00 PM, the woman C.F.D. appeared in court for the criminal case brought against her by the Public Prosecutor’s Office. The hearing was a pro-forma session, and the Judge stipulated that the case will be heard in July 2026.

It was understood that the defense lawyer requested C.F.D.’s release, but the Prosecutor objected. The Judge rejected the lawyer’s request and ruled that C.F.D. will remain incarcerated until the trial in July 2026. Additionally, the Judge instructed that two witnesses be heard, as requested by the lawyer, and ordered a psychologist to prepare a report.

ACCUSATIONS The Public Prosecutor accuses C.F.D. of striking and killing two people with a Jeep on January 4, 2025, on L.G. Smith Boulevard shortly past the Renaissance Hotel. She is also accused of the attempted murder of two other individuals who were crossing the road at that moment. C.F.D. was allegedly driving at a very high speed and fled the scene.

The Prosecutor presented further charges against C.F.D., including:

  • Driving without a driver’s license and without a valid inspection (keuringskaart).
  • Failing to drive on the right side of the road.
  • Driving at excessive speed and failing to control the vehicle’s speed.
  • Driving under the influence of alcohol.

WOMAN REMAINS DETAINED The session was pro-forma, meaning the Judge heard requests from the lawyer and Prosecutor and set a date for the trial. The defense lawyer presented arguments to suspend C.F.D.’s detention and requested to hear two witnesses. The lawyer also asked for a psychologist to prepare a report on C.F.D.’s situation.

The Prosecutor insisted that C.F.D. must remain incarcerated given the seriousness of the case, noting that two people were killed and the other two individuals filed complaints for attempted murder.

The Judge rejected the lawyer’s request for release. The Judge ruled that C.F.D. will remain detained until July 3, 2026, the day the case will be heard. The Judge also ordered the hearing of two witnesses and that a psychologist prepare a report after evaluating C.F.D.
