November 28, INDEBON sent a delegation of twenty-two young athletes to Paraguay to take part in the School Games, also known as CONSUDE, in Asunción.
The sports competitions for schoolchildren aged 12 to 14 will take place from November 30 to December 7. Bonaire will participate in track and field, basketball, chess, futsal, and throwing events.

Commissioner Peter Silberie is also part of the delegation, together with the coaches and guides. Silberie was unable to travel with the youngsters but will join them in Paraguay before the competitions begin.

“I am pleased that our young athletes are able to participate in the School Games. The level of the competitions is very high. The intention of the School Games is for each athlete to continue developing by participating in these events,” the commissioner explained. He also emphasized another important point.

“By participating, we strengthen the ties between Bonaire and the host country.”
In addition to Paraguay and Bonaire, the following countries are participating: Argentina, Brazil, Chile, Colombia, Uruguay, Ecuador, Peru, and Venezuela. “I feel honored that our athletes are competing in the School Games. This is also good for promoting our island abroad,” the commissioner stated.
INDEBON remains committed to the development of young sports talent on our island. INDEBON wishes all athletes great success in Paraguay.
