Christ Jesus knows everything, He sees everything, and He has authority over everything. When our eyes are fixed on Christ Jesus, we can walk on water, just as Peter walked, because at that moment everything that is impossible becomes possible through His grace.
There are many, so very many distractions that come toward people to make them take their eyes off the things of God, allowing circumstances and the system of this world to govern their lives. In every situation, let Christ Jesus take the helm of your life, and thus your life will be well-guided.
When we go through trials, we must, absolutely must draw closer to Christ, because He is our refuge and our strength. He is the greatest strength we need because He is a trustworthy defender; we can sleep peacefully when we trust in God and depend on Him.
Proverbs 4:23-27 says the following:
Keep your heart with all diligence, for out of it spring the issues of life. Put away from you a deceitful mouth, and put perverse lips far from you. Let your eyes look straight ahead, and your eyelids look right before you. Ponder the path of your feet, and let all your ways be established. Do not turn to the right hand or to the left; remove your foot from evil.
Psalm 34:11-14 says:
Come, you children, listen to me; I will teach you the fear of the Lord. Who is the man who desires life, and loves many days, that he may see good? Keep your tongue from evil, and your lips from speaking deceit. Depart from evil and do good; seek peace and pursue it.
Everything we see and everything we speak has an effect on our lives. The more we keep our eyes fixed on Christ Jesus, the healthier our vision is; and the more we speak of Christ Jesus, the purer our vocabulary becomes. Because evil wants to infiltrate everywhere, and people will be judged for every word they speak—for with your words you build up, and with your words you can break yourself as well as others.
People’s words can bring bondage into their lives without them realizing it. When we keep speaking negative things about ourselves, our children, or our entire family, we bring forth chains that only God can break.
Therefore, since we are surrounded by such a great cloud of witnesses, let us also lay aside every weight, and the sin which so easily ensnares us, and let us run with endurance the race that is set before us, fixing our eyes on Jesus, the author and finisher of our faith, who for the joy that was set before Him endured the cross, despising the shame, and has sat down at the right hand of the throne of God. (Hebrews 12:1-2).
He who believes will be saved, and he who does not believe is condemned already, as it is written in John 3:16-17.
But we must not only believe; we must also live according to the will of God, and this is by no means temporary. God demands our complete obedience so that He can keep us on the true path, allowing us to experience His faithfulness while waiting on Christ Jesus, our Savior and Redeemer.
In these troublesome times, keep your eyes fixed on Christ Jesus, because it is only in Christ that there is Salvation and eternal life for us all.
