Tourism Corporation Bonaire Ta Celebra 35 Ana Conectando Boneiru Cu Mundo

Tourism Corporation Bonaire (TCB) proudly celebrates its 35th anniversary, marking more than three decades of dedication to supporting the sustainable development of tourism on Bonaire. Since its establishment in 1991, TCB has worked hand in hand with the government, the private sector, community organizations, and local and international partners to help position Bonaire as one of the Caribbean’s most respected and distinctive destinations.

Over the past 35 years, Bonaire’s tourism industry has evolved significantly. Visitor arrivals have grown, international connectivity has expanded, tourism products have diversified, and the island has earned worldwide recognition for its pristine marine environment, exceptional diving and watersports, authentic culture, and commitment to nature conservation. This progress has never been the achievement of one organization alone, but the result of a shared vision and the collective efforts of an entire island community.

While destination marketing has always been a core part of TCB’s mission, the organization has grown into a destination management organization that also focuses on research and data, strategic planning, product development, airlift and cruise development, sustainability, community engagement, and industry collaboration. Together, these efforts help ensure that tourism continues to create lasting value for Bonaire’s residents, businesses, and visitors.

Throughout its history, TCB has had the privilege of working with an extensive network of partners, including local entrepreneurs, accommodation providers, restaurants, dive operators, watersports businesses, tour operators, transportation providers, retailers, airlines, cruise lines, Bonaire International Airport, cruise port partners, travel advisors, destinations, media, government, educational institutions, researchers, nature and cultural organizations, community groups and destination partners around the world. These partnerships have been instrumental in strengthening Bonaire’s tourism industry and enhancing the island’s international reputation.

TCB has also proudly supported, developed, and promoted numerous events, initiatives, and campaigns that celebrate Bonaire’s identity and strengthen its tourism offering. From flagship events such as the Bonaire Regatta and Dia di Rincon to community initiatives, cultural celebrations, and international promotional campaigns, these efforts have helped showcase the island while creating opportunities for residents, visitors, and local businesses alike.

As TCB reflects on this milestone, it also honors the many individuals who have dedicated their passion, expertise, and leadership to the organization over the past 35 years. The organization extends its sincere appreciation to its founders and pioneers, former and current Supervisory Board members, board members, commissioners, former CEOs and management teams, as well as every employee, past and present, whose dedication has helped shape TCB into the organization it is today. Their collective efforts have laid the foundation for a resilient and forward-looking tourism industry.

“This anniversary is first and foremost a celebration of our island and everyone who has contributed to Bonaire’s tourism journey,” said Elesiër Angel, CEO of TCB. “Tourism is built on partnerships, shared responsibility, and a common vision for our future. We are grateful to every resident, tourism ambassador, entrepreneur, volunteer, employee, organization, and partner who has helped shape Bonaire’s tourism story over the past 35 years. Together, we have built a destination that is admired around the world while remaining committed to protecting the nature, culture, and community that make Bonaire so special.”

As TCB looks to the future, the organization remains committed to working closely with all stakeholders to guide tourism in a way that strengthens Bonaire’s economy, protects its natural and cultural heritage, creates opportunities for future generations, and enhances the quality of life for everyone who calls Bonaire home.

On this special anniversary, Tourism Corporation Bonaire expresses its heartfelt gratitude to everyone who has been part of this remarkable journey. From the pioneers who laid the foundation in 1991 to the next generation shaping the future of tourism, this milestone celebrates 35 years of collaboration, resilience, and pride. Together, we look forward to continuing to build a sustainable and prosperous future for Bonaire.
