Exercise Barracuda Warrior has started on the island of Curaçao. During these yearly excercises, several Military Units from the Dutch Caribbean Region work together to improve their skills. A total of 165 soldiers will participate, amongst which the Marine Squadron Carib from Aruba, the Sint Maarten Marine Detachment, the Curaçao and Aruba Boat Platoon as Soldiers from Curaçao. The exercise will last until February 7.
The training consists of several parts, such as shooting excercises, operations on sea as well as land, and exercises in built-up areas. The soldiers will also have training with attacks that appear unexpectedly. This will help them to be better prepared for several situations and to be able to better work together. Through excercises such as “Barracuda Warrior” the soldiers remain well prepared for their tasks in the Caribbean Region. Besides that, the soldiers learn new techniques and they experience how they can labor in difficult circumstances. Through intense exercises and training the soldiers will be and will remain ready in defending the Kingdom. In this way Defense delivers peace and security in the Dutch Caribbean Region.
