The Aruban film E Bruha, Bruhà, directed by Desiree Croes, brought joy and admiration during the Krioyo Film Festival 2025 in Curaçao.
A full house of Papiamento-speaking movie fans enjoyed this Aruban dramedy. At the end, the reactions and excitement for the actors were overwhelming. This was the second edition of the Krioyo Film Festival, held at Caribbean Cinemas in Sambil. It was wonderful to see Aruban friends living in Curaçao in the audience, such as Roxanne Pieters, Emma Croes, and well-known figures like producer Orlando Martina, former Prime Minister of the Netherlands Antilles Maria Liberia-Peters, and friends Diony Eduarda, Harry Allard, Stephanie van Heiningen, and others.
Both producer and actress Desiree Croes and actor Addonsito Croes were present to enjoy and witness the audience’s reactions firsthand.
In the end, the feedback was overwhelmingly positive, and the team of actors and producers can be proud of the impact the film made at the festival.
According to organizer Giovanni Atalita, E Bruha, Bruhà has been nominated for Film of the Year for the Kadushi di Oro 2025 awards.
