The National Library of Aruba has received five copies of the book titled ‘E bahul di Clyde’ by local author Mr. Clyde Harms. These copies are currently being processed so they can be made available both for circulation and for
the National Collection.
Mr. Clyde Harms is a writer of historical stories in Papiamento and has published many articles in local newspapers. This book is a collection of 100 articles. Soon, library visitors will be able to read this book.
The themes of the articles vary, but the ones that stand out most are the cultural-historical pieces. Mr. Clyde Harms began writing when he was a student at Juliana School.
In 2013, Mr. Harms published the book ‘Storianan di un mucha di Lagoen’. The library also holds ‘Un Arubiano na Libia’ and ‘Historia di baseball di Aruba: e prome añanan’ in its collection. In 2003, Mr. Harms was decorated as a Knight in the Order of Orange-Nassau for his social contributions. Mr. Harms is currently 94 years old.
