On Saturday, 8 November, a highly anticipated benefit evening was held in support of the renovation of Aruba’s national theatre, Cas di Cultura. The event, organized by Cas di Cultura and the Representation of the Netherlands in Oranjestad (VNO), brought together prominent figures from Aruba’s cultural, public, and private sectors for an inspiring night of music and celebration.

The evening was officially opened by the Prime Minister of Aruba, His Excellency Mike Eman, who emphasized the importance of Cas di Cultura for Aruba and highlighted culture as a foundation for education, identity, and community spirit. On behalf of the Aruban government, Eman pledged an additional 5 million florins toward the renovation project.

The evening was hosted by Vicky Arens, Director and Executive Board Member of Cas di Cultura, and Vincent Storimans, Head of the Representation of the Netherlands in Oranjestad. They stressed the importance of cultural cooperation within the Kingdom and the shared commitment to preserving and strengthening Aruba’s cultural heritage.

“The positive experiences children have at Cas di Cultura strengthen their bond with our island, and we want every child to have that opportunity. We are receiving a renovated complex designed with a sustainable vision for the future.”

“Cas di Cultura is more than just a theatre—it is a gathering place where generations of Arubans come together to share art, music, and experiences,” said Vincent Storimans, Head of the Representation of the Netherlands in Oranjestad (VNO). “With this benefit evening, we not only celebrate Aruba’s cultural richness but also our joint dedication to its cultural future.”

Speakers also included Ronella Croes, CEO of the Aruba Tourism Authority (ATA), and Roland Croes, Director of SETAR, both of whom underscored the importance of culture for society; ATA additionally announced a contribution of 1 million florins toward the renovation of Cas di Cultura.

The benefit evening took place in the elegant ballroom of the Hilton Aruba Caribbean Resort & Casino, where guests enjoyed a refined cocktail event. Musical performances were provided by the internationally renowned Reverón Trio, accompanied by guest artists Qiao Chen Solomon (violin) and Joel Pagán (viola).
