The process of developing, restoring, and improving football fields in Aruba, with the goal of enhancing their overall quality, began some time ago and continues to make progress. It was announced today that several light poles, which had been stored in Colombia for an extended period, have finally arrived in Aruba and are ready to be transported to various football fields across the island.

The rehabilitation of several football fields that were previously in poor condition began under the former Ministry of Sports. In the current phase, the Government has continued the process, and the current Minister of Sports, Gerlien Croes, has successfully ensured the arrival of the light poles in Aruba, despite the fact that the process was complex and challenging.

Football clubs in different parts of the island have welcomed the news with satisfaction. The Ministry, in collaboration with the Aruba Football Association (AVB), will determine which fields will be prioritized, giving preference to those currently under renovation and in greatest need of lighting.

With the installation of the light poles, children, young people, and adults who are passionate about football will be able to use the fields not only during the day but also in the evening hours.

Upon arrival in Aruba, one of the island’s well-known logistics companies, Fast Delivery, was responsible for transporting and clearing the materials from Colombia to Aruba and from the port to the football fields. The Government of Aruba, athletes, and the wider community are pleased with this development. Step by step, the process of establishing high-quality football fields in neighborhoods across the island is becoming a reality.
