Mike De Meza, deputy of the AVP party, has demonstrated a clear understanding of the Rijkswet HOFA (Kingdom Law on Financial Supervision) and its potential to limit the powers of the Parliament of Aruba. PPA leaders note that the new generation of politicians often lacks an independent political identity and tends to follow party leadership without fully analyzing legislation. “It is evident that many do not study the law and are unaware of its content, which can harm the country as a whole,” said Eduard Pieters, PPA faction leader.

Pieters highlighted De Meza’s years of political experience and commitment to Aruba’s national interests. “In moments when Aruba’s unity is needed, one must prioritize the country over party leadership. Mike De Meza has demonstrated this once again during parliamentary discussions on the HOFA law,” he said.
According to Pieters, De Meza’s stance shows that he truly prioritizes Aruba’s welfare, openly asserting that the HOFA law would undermine the authority of Aruba’s Parliament.
