Passive protest by unions: Message reached the Netherlands

Seppa 7 1

The president of the FTA union, Jose Figaroa, expressed his satisfaction with the passive demonstration that took place during the visit of King Willem-Alexander to Aruba. According to Figaroa, although there was not a massive turnout, the number of demonstrators was sufficient to convey the message they wanted to send.

Figaroa indicated that the main objective of the action was achieved: making the voice of the unions heard in the Netherlands. However, he emphasized that the message was not directed solely at the Netherlands, but also at the Parliament and Government of Aruba.

According to the FTA president, the demonstration represented an important step in the struggle to ensure that the concerns of workers are heard, both at the international and local levels.
