The leader of the PPA parliamentary faction, Eduard Pieters, has expressed his disappointment over the lack of action from the Parliament of Aruba regarding the Rijkswet HOFA (Kingdom Law on Financial Supervision).
Pieters recalled that in the first letter submitted to Parliament, 13 unions had signed to clearly express their position against the HOFA law. He emphasized that the unions advocate for transparency and responsible financial management, but believe that financial supervision should be achieved through alternative means without implementing the Kingdom Law currently under discussion.
Pieters warned that Aruba must not return to a situation similar to that of 1986, when its autonomy was still being shaped, stressing that the country should move forward with confidence and self-determination rather than surrendering its financial independence.
