The Minister of Justice, Integration, Public Transport, and Energy, mr. drs. Arthur Dowers, traveled to Willemstad, Curaçao, to dialogue alongside his Justice colleagues—Minister Nathalie Tackling of Sint Maarten, Minister Shalten Hato of Curaçao, and Minister David van Weel of the Netherlands—on various aspects relevant to justice and security within the Kingdom.
This week, Curaçao is hosting the Judicial Four-Party Consultation (Justitieel Vierlandenoverleg), which takes place twice a year in one of the participating countries. These meetings are important moments for the four countries of the Kingdom to dialogue and address various justice and security topics that matter to each individual country as well as the entire Kingdom.
In addition to the justice ministers, executives from the judicial chain of each country come together to address legal aspects affecting each country individually, as well as matters with a collective impact across the Kingdom. During the meeting, information and experience are exchanged between Aruba, Curaçao, Sint Maarten, and the Netherlands, while various topics related to the development of justice and security in the countries are discussed.
Aruba’s participation in the Judicial Four-Party Consultation provides an opportunity for Minister Dowers, together with his colleagues from the other countries, to continue dialoguing on topics of common interest and find ways to strengthen cooperation in the field of justice and security within the Kingdom.
