On this day, Youth Health Care (JGZ) wants to emphasize our commitment to protecting and promoting the rights of every child and youth living in Aruba.
As an organization, we work daily, focusing particularly on good health from a holistic perspective (emotional, mental, physical, social, life essence, and identity). JGZ believes that every child has the right to a healthy and optimal start in life and the right to thrive!
“The health and well-being of children is essential for their development, and especially for their future.”
We are convinced that every child and youth has the right to high-quality health care and well-being, good education, and protection against abuse and neglect. JGZ works daily on the rights of children and youth by:
* Providing preventive care, information, and support to children, parents, or other caregivers (school, daycare) when health issues arise
* Identifying, recognizing, and addressing health problems early and referring to the necessary care
*Supporting parents, caregivers, and schools with children who have health or developmental issues
* Collaborating with other agencies to provide integrated care or assistance
* Collecting health and well-being data and working on youth health management
Aruba, let us all work together to protect the rights of every child. Every child has the right to healthy development and to live a happy and prosperous life.
Soon, JGZ will publish its annual report (school year 2024-2025) on the DVG website, where the results on the health and well-being of children and youth in Aruba can be read. We also want to remind parents to fill in the check-up form they received from the school nurse/doctor, who is also a doctor at Wit Gele Kruis (WGK).
