The current director of Elmar N.V., Mr. Anthony Irausquin, received a letter today informing him of his immediate suspension. In connection with this, Mr. Eric Tromp has been appointed as interim director and will be responsible for managing Elmar N.V. until further notice.
This means that the director of Elmar N.V. has been sidelined without being provided a valid reason for his temporary suspension, while at the same time another person has been temporarily appointed to lead the company. This also implies an additional financial burden, as a second director’s salary will now need to be paid.
It is known that Minister Rene Herde of Energy and Utilities is responsible for Elmar N.V. However, due to his inability to properly manage the portfolio, the Council of Ministers decided to transfer the Energy portfolio to Minister Arthur Dowers.
Once Minister Arthur Dowers took over the portfolio, it quickly became clear that political persecution was taking place against Director Anthony Irausquin.
