Minister Geoffrey Wever invites those active in the creative sector and those interested in starting to apply for the DEZHI and ExproDesk workshop “Creatives Without Borders”

Creatives Without Borders Asset

The Minister of Finance, Economic Affairs and Primary Sector, Mr. Geoffrey Wever, invites individuals who are active in the creative sector, as well as those interested in starting in the creative sector, to register for the workshop organized by the Department of Economic Affairs, Trade and Industry (Departamento di Asunto Economico, Comercio y Industria (DEZHI)) through its Expro Desk.

The three-day workshop will take place on April 15, 16, and 17 and is titled “Creatives Without Borders: Turning Creativity into Export Opportunities.” The objective of this workshop is to stimulate and support the creative industry and equip participants with knowledge and skills to develop themselves and their businesses in Aruba, and to export to international markets.

During the workshop, participants will discover how their talent can generate income abroad, how to position their work and business for the international market, and how to turn creativity into real opportunities. They will also receive practical information on how to protect their work and how to work professionally with international clients. This initiative demonstrates that creativity has no borders—and that local talent, regardless of how small or large a business may be, has the potential to place Aruba on the international map.

Last year, the Government of Aruba secured funding of USD 151,200 from the Tijdelijke Werkorganisatie (TWO) in the Netherlands for the comprehensive development of a policy framework for a Creative and Cultural Industry (CCI). This includes a strategic vision, an action plan, and an incentive package.

The Orange Economy is a promising sector with significant economic and cultural potential and occupies a central place in the economic strategy of the AVP-Futuro Cabinet.

The Government of Aruba continues to demonstrate the importance of the creative sector through concrete measures, including two new fiscal incentives that came into effect in January 2026:

  • the Starters Regulation
  • the fiscal incentive to stimulate more activity in the Free Zone

The creative sector, also known as the Orange Economy, is included in both fiscal incentive programs with the objective of stimulating the sector, diversifying the economy, and creating more employment opportunities for the community.

Minister Wever expressed his appreciation to DEZHI and Expro Desk for their continued efforts and commitment to developing the Orange Economy and encourages everyone interested to participate in the workshop to gain knowledge, develop skills, and become part of the growth of the creative sector in Aruba.

Participation in the workshop is free, but space is limited—so do not miss this opportunity!
