During the latest public meeting in Parliament, a remarkable situation arose where the AVP Faction itself delivered a formal “blow” to their Minister of Infrastructure. By means of a motion that was approved unanimously, the “green” faction confirmed what the People and the MEP Faction have been saying: the Minister talks a lot, but has neither a clear vision nor concrete projects for Aruba.
A “Certificate of Incompetence” handed out by their own faction Motion number 2 from the AVP Faction speaks for itself. In an incomprehensible act (perhaps due to lack of experience), the AVP members of parliament wrote in their own motion that the DOW budget “does not contain a clear and complete overview of concrete projects for the year 2026.” This is not criticism from the opposition; this is an official confirmation from the very parties that support the Minister.
403 Days: Zero roads, Zero answers The reality is clear, and this motion simply formalizes the lack of management. After more than 400 days in government, the results remain at zero:
Zero paved roads.
Zero transparency in how public money is spent.
Zero concrete plans for our infrastructure.
The Minister presented an empty budget, devoid of substance, preventing Parliament from exercising its oversight duties. The motion goes as far as saying there must be a visible connection between spending and projects, which means that currently, the Minister is asking for money without being able to say exactly what he intends to do with it.
30-Day Ultimatum The MEP Faction voted in favor of this motion because we agree: the Minister must return to Cocolishi, redo his work, and stop deceiving the People with pretty words. He has been given a 30-day ultimatum to present the specific overview that the AVP faction itself noted was missing.
