the Public Entity of Bonaire and the General Union of Government Personnel (ABVO) organized a “Day of Reflection” for employees of the Public Entity of Bonaire at the ABVO building.

The day was divided into a morning session and an afternoon session. Employees paused to reflect on the core of being a public servant: the rights and obligations that come with it, their service to the Bonairean community, the significant impact they can have on society through their work, and the support that ABVO can provide.

The Island Governor (Gezaghebber) gave a welcoming address during the morning session, while Commissioner (Diputado) Joselito Statia opened the afternoon session. Additionally, Nereida Gonzalez and Ferina (Roosje) van der Hoek gave inspiring presentations, encouraging participants to reflect and engage in dialogue with one another.

The Public Entity of Bonaire considers it important to create moments of reflection and development for its staff. At the end of the meeting, employees who were not yet members were given the opportunity to register with ABVO. In accordance with Article 4e of the Labor Regulations for Public Servants of the Public Entity of Bonaire, the Public Entity itself covers the union membership fees for ABVO.
