Minister of Public Health, Social Development and Labor Confirms Safety of Sint Maarten Patients in Colombia Following Earthquake

El Ministro De Salud Publica Desarrollo Social Y Trabajo Confirma La Seguridad De Los Pacientes De Sint Maarten En Colombia Tras Un Terremoto

Following reports of the earthquake that occurred in Colombia earlier today, the Honorable Minister of Public Health, Social Development and Labor (VSA) Mr. Claret Connor immediately reached out to the Social & Health Insurances (SZV) to verify the welfare of Sint Maarten patients currently receiving medical treatment in Colombia.

SZV promptly replied that both the patients and the respective medical institutions where they are receiving care were contacted. Based on the information received, all Sint Maarten patients have been accounted for and are safe.

The Minister expressed appreciation to SZV for its swift response and coordination in establishing contact with the patients and healthcare providers during this situation. The Minister understands the impact such natural disasters can have on families and loved ones, especially when abroad. Minister Connor wishes the people of the affected areas much strength as they navigate through this difficult period.

The Ministry of VSA will remain in close communication with SZV and the medical institutions in Colombia and will provide updates should circumstances change.
