Recently founded for the 2027 elections, the Progressive People’s Party (PPP) a human rights party represents real change, creating a new generation of dedicated individuals.
Our team will consist of lawyers, educators, artists, law enforcement officers, entrepreneurs, workers, young professionals, community leaders, and citizens from all sectors of society. We are looking for people to join us individuals of all ages, with or without experience, Bonairean or non-Bonairean. All nationalities are welcome. The time has come for a new generation of committed, visionary leaders with fresh ideas, integrity, and the courage to move our island forward collectively.
For too long, we have seen the same political cycle repeat itself: the same leaders jumping from one party to another, recycling the same ideas, and delivering the same results without significant development or real benefits for the people of Bonaire. Bonaire cannot thrive as a prosperous island of 25,000 people without strong, responsible, and visionary leadership.
We need everyone in Bonaire Latinos, Dutch, English-speakers, and all who love Bonaire to understand that we must do this together instead of blaming one another. Our unique identity and culture are being lost. As Bonaireans, we are a minority and cannot do this alone. We need people of all nationalities in Bonaire to join our movement for real change.
Historically, today’s political parties originated from one single party: the Democratic Party (DP). DP fragmented into all the parties we see today. From the split that created UPB to the further splintering into MPB and M21, these groups have all been influenced by The Hague. In 2017, these leaders agreed to let The Hague integrate Bonaire into the Dutch Constitution, effectively surrendering our local decision-making power.
Now, the same familiar faces are forming yet another party for 2027. It is obvious: the same leaders and advisors, driven by self-interest and outdated thinking. Our party will not include any recycled leaders or advisors from the past or present. Bonaire deserves better. If you are tired of the status quo and believe in change, there is a place for you here. Together, we can break the cycle and build a new future.
