Today, Wednesday at approximately 8:10 PM, the Police Central Dispatch was notified that a robbery had just taken place at Mei Hua Xi Supermarket on Weg Seroe Preto, San Nicolas.
Dispatch sent the San Nicolas patrol to the scene, as well as other police units that were on the streets at the time.
Upon arrival, officers received initial information that shortly before, two masked men—one of them armed with a firearm—robbed the person behind the cash register.
One of the suspects reportedly struck the victim with the butt of the firearm.
According to the victim, the suspects were wearing hoodies and dark-colored pants, and both had their faces covered.
They reportedly spoke broken Papiamento and Spanish. One of the suspects was carrying a backpack. They made off with approximately Afl. 5,000. They fled on foot in an easterly direction.
An ambulance arrived at the scene, and medical personnel provided first aid to the victim before transporting them to ImSan.
The Robbery Squad (Atraco Team) and forensics officers arrived on site to conduct their investigation.
