In the Social Investment Category

Aruba Airport Authority N.V. (AAA) is proud to announce it has received its first AHATA Impact Award in the category of Social Investment, in recognition of its outstanding corporate social responsibility efforts towards the local community. AAA also received honorable mention in the category Environmental Conservation.

On Friday June 27, 2025, AAA was invited to the 3rd AHATA Impact Award which celebrated companies that are making a lasting difference in Aruba through impactful initiatives. AAA was nominated in three categories: Environmental Conservation, Social Investment, and Employee Wellbeing. The social investment category highlights programs that address critical community needs such as poverty, education, elderly care, and more, whether through volunteer time or financial support.

AAA’s social assistance project team named “Wings of Hope” (WoH) began in AAA’s Security Unit and was the basis to ignite a larger scale project-based program that has been adopted company-wide with the sole purpose of assisting and supporting families in need. WoH in collaboration with Directie Sociale Zaken (DSZ) has been working diligently for 5 years and has contributed towards an average of 50 to 60 families annualy with an average investment of AWG 148,500.00 per year. Throughout the years up to 2024, WoH has successfully executed a total of 31 socially responsible projects for the local community, with an overall average contribution of AWG 270,000.00 per year.
For 2025, AAA has already planned and launched eight new projects, aligned with the United

Nations Sustainable Development Goals (UN SDGs), specifically:
Zero Hunger (2),
Good Heath & Wellbeing (3)
Quality Education (4)
Gender Equality (5)
Affordable and Clean Energy (7)
Reduced Inequalities (10)
Sustainable Cities and Communities (11)
Peace, Justice and Strong Institutions (16)
and Partnerships (17)

Additionally, Wings of Hope also has a separate Donations Portal in place, that allows registered organizations/foundations to submit a project plan based on AAA’s Donation Policy and the UN SDGs.
“Wings of Hope was instrumental to the company’s morale in the first months of the Covid pandemic and to this day, it continues to be a source of pride for AAA’s employees as we keep expanding the reach and positive impact of Wings projects.” said Angeline Flemming, Director of Health and Sustainability. “Giving back and contributing in a positive, lasting way to the community we serve has become part of AAA’s DNA and I cannot be prouder of the team of Wings of Hope and all of AAA for this.”
