As of February 1, 2026, the contract between the Executive Body of AZV (OE AZV) and Dr. Johnny van der Linden will come to an end. We would like to thank Dr. Johnny van der Linden for the care he has provided to our insured patients and wish him every success in the next phase of his life.
At the same time, we would like to warmly welcome a new family physician who, for many, is already a familiar face: Dr. Maikel Kelly. Dr. Kelly operated a general practice in Piedra Plat for many years and, as of February 1, 2026, will provide medical care to all patients currently registered with Dr. Johnny van der Linden.
Dr. Kelly is a former student of Colegio Arubano (VWO) and the University of Groningen (RUG), where he completed his medical studies. He subsequently specialized as a general practitioner at Maastricht UMC+. After completing his specialization, he gained extensive experience working in North Brabant (the Netherlands), including with various general practices, out-of-hours GP services, and within the mental health sector.
Automatic Transfer
OE AZV is responsible for continuity of medical care. For this reason, an automatic transfer will take place. As of February 1, 2026, all insured persons registered with Dr. J. van der Linden (Savaneta) will automatically be transferred to Dr. Maikel Kelly, located at Savaneta 82, telephone number 584-6427.
This means that insured persons do not need to take any action; all changes will be processed digitally.
How can you view the change?
As of February 1, 2026, insured persons can view the automatic transfer via the AZV app. Open the AZV app using your PIN code and go to:
Menu → Care Providers → General Practitioner → Your General Practitioner
If you do not agree
Only if you do not agree with the automatic transfer, you may request a change of general practitioner (subject to availability). Please note that in this case you must personally request approval from the general practitioner of your choice. Both you and the new general practitioner must sign the “Change of General Practitioner” form.
The general practitioner or their assistant will submit the form to OE AZV. You can then view the change in the AZV app via:
Menu → Care Provider → Your Care Provider → General Practitioner
Recommendation
OE AZV recommends that all insured persons download the AZV app and register for their digital ZorgPas. You can download the app via the Google Play Store or Apple App Store by clicking “Install” and following the registration steps.
