Within the framework of the project “Invisible Perspectives”, recently carried out at FAVI, a group of people with visual impairments participated in a basic photography course taught by a professional photographer. Despite the visual challenges the participants faced, they successfully completed the course and developed their own photographic projects.
The course marked a milestone for FAVI, as it was the first time a basic photography program was offered within this context. According to the organizers, the initiative exceeded all expectations and demonstrated that art and creative expression have no barriers.
Rafael Barragan, professional photographer and one of the main figures involved in the project, shared that the experience was deeply enriching for both the participants and the instructor. The project not only stimulated creativity but also raised awareness about the different ways people with visual impairments perceive and interpret the world around them.
The final exhibition of the photographic works serves as a testament to perseverance, talent, and inclusion, highlighting the importance of cultural initiatives that give voice and visibility to perspectives that too often remain invisible.
