Presupuesto 2027 Entregado A Tiempo Y Cumple Con La Ley

The Minister of Finance, Economic Affairs, and Primary Sector, mr. Geoffrey Wever, informs that the 2027 Budget has been delivered to Parliament on time, as stipulated by law. In addition to timely delivery, the 2027 Budget complies with legally anchored budgetary norms, keeps public finances under control, and creates space to continue returning the benefits of economic development to the community.

The 2027 Budget projects a surplus of 84.1 million florins (Afl.) for the Country of Aruba, equivalent to 1 percent of the Gross Domestic Product (GDP). At the collective sector level, a surplus of more than 203 million florins is projected, equivalent to 2.4 percent of GDP. The Aruba financial supervision board (CAft) positively evaluated the 2027 draft budget and concluded that it complies with legally anchored financial norms at both the Country and collective sector levels.

Key highlights of the 2027 Budget:

Economic growth: Nominal economic growth is projected at 4.1 percent for 2027, with GDP estimated at approximately 8.4 billion florins, driven primarily by investment, private consumption, and exports.

Debt reduction: The collective sector national debt is projected to drop from 59 percent of GDP in 2026 to 54 percent in 2027, lowering interest payments and freeing up public funds.

Purchasing power and welfare: Includes funding for government commitments related to pensions (Reparatietoeslag), business stimulation, and purchasing power improvements.

Economic diversification: Supports new sectors such as agriculture and the primary sector, blue economy, fintech, renewable energy, and creative industries, alongside the revitalization of Oranjestad and San Nicolas.

Financial modernization: Gradually introduces a policy-based budgeting system with financial support from the Netherlands via the Landspakket, alongside tools like the Fiscal Risk Assessment Tool.

The AVP-FUTURO Cabinet reaffirms through this budget that financial discipline and economic progress go hand in hand, establishing a solid foundation to invest in the people, economy, and future of Aruba.
