“Neighborhood Action” (Accion di Bario) took place once again, this time in the Mabon neighborhood. The initiative received a positive response from residents, who had the opportunity to speak directly with Prime Minister Mike Eman about their concerns, needs, and ideas for improving their neighborhood.
During the visit, Prime Minister Mike Eman entered the neighborhood alongside representatives from various departments and public services, including Serlimar, Bureau City Inspector (BCI), the Neighborhood Police (KPA), and GKMB, accompanied by other members of his ministerial team. Parliamentarian Otami Thomasia and Sonaly Fernandez-Acosta, representing the Ministry of Tourism, Transport, and Labor, also participated in the tour. Representatives from the Luna Foundation and members of the Mabon Development and Welfare Committee were equally present and provided their input. The collaboration between all these entities emphasized the importance of working together with the community to identify needs and find concrete solutions for the neighborhood.
At every stop during the tour, Prime Minister Mike Eman took time to listen to the residents, learn about their concerns, answer their questions, and dialogue about the needs within the community. The tour included visits to Caya Butishi, Caya Mangasina, Caya Bohi, and Caya Parapete. Meanwhile, the Bureau City Inspector and Serlimar crews went throughout the Mabon neighborhood to collect various trash that residents had put out for disposal. This joint effort contributed to a cleaner, more orderly, and pleasant environment for all residents. Neighborhood Action aims to recover every neighborhood, keep the environment clean, and continue working with the community to identify priorities and develop practical solutions that benefit all inhabitants.
Let’s clean our neighborhoods As a continuation of this effort, the Government invites all Mabon residents to participate actively in the “National Day to Care for Aruba,” taking place on Saturday, July 25. This day will be dedicated to a national cleanup effort, during which all of Aruba is invited to unite and contribute to the care and cleanliness of our island. There will be various bins available at several points around Aruba to facilitate waste collection.
In Mabon, a bin will also be available so that residents can continue with neighborhood cleaning and complete remaining tasks. Furthermore, all residents are invited to meet at 8:00 a.m. at the park next to the baseball field. Together, the community will clean the park and prepare the ground for the future plan in store for the area. The Government aims to create a beautiful, clean, and functional space where all Mabon residents can gather and enjoy. Caring for Aruba begins with caring for our community. The Government thanks all Mabon residents for their cooperation, participation, and commitment.
