Psychologist Suell Kelly Quant was one of the speakers during the symposium organized by Soroptimist International in connection with International Women’s Day. According to Quant, the morning session went well and was marked by strong interest from the audience.
During the presentation, Quant noted that there were several interesting questions from participants, which shows that the topic of trauma and healing resonates with many people in the community.
According to Quant, one of the most important points is that a person must first become aware that they carry trauma and learn to recognize the emotions that come with it. Only when someone is able to acknowledge and accept their situation can they begin working on the healing process.
“Trauma is filled with a lot of pain,” the psychologist explained, but emphasized that it is also important for the community to understand that every person has the ability to heal themselves. According to Quant, this process is not easy and takes time, but with the right guidance and tools, it is possible to overcome trauma.
The symposium provided a space for reflection and education about mental and emotional well-being—topics that are becoming increasingly important within the community
