In John 18:37, it is written, Jesus says: “For this I was born and for this I came into the world, to testify to the truth. Everyone on the side of truth listens to my voice.” In John 8:32 it is written: “Then you will know the truth, and the truth will set you free.”
Everyone needs to know what truth can do:
Truth brings security to a country.
Truth brings security to a marriage.
Truth brings security to education.
Truth brings security to the church.
Truth brings security to a family.
Even though the truth hurts, the truth will always prevail, because truth makes a person’s conscience clean and free, and it removes any chance of being accused by the enemy. People can talk about your past, but they cannot stop your progress when you speak the truth and live with the truth.
The truth will always sting the eyes of those who are liars, and it will always cause distress to those who want to hide it, because truth comes from God. Let no one forget that the first sin that entered this world came through a lie, telling humans they would become equal to God—and the devil knew that was not possible, because he himself believed that and failed.
There is no job in the world that forces a person to lie or twist words, because a lie is temporary. The same lie that lifts you up today will let you fall hard tomorrow when everyone learns the truth. Everything that people must lie to achieve will one day bring shame, because a lie is a great shame.
Let us educate our children in the truth, not only the truth of the Word of God, but also the truth in our social lives, because to God, a lie remains a lie, and a lie is a sin, and sin leads to condemnation. And where there is a lie, there is no trust.
“Truthful lips will be established forever, but a lying tongue is only for a moment.” (Proverbs 12:19).
How many systems exist nowadays to deceive people and take advantage of them, and how many times are people warned, yet they still continue to pretend, knowing full well that they are living a lie.
“Whoever walks in integrity walks securely, but whoever takes crooked paths will be found out.” (Proverbs 10:9).
“Lying lips are an abomination to the Lord, but those who act faithfully are His delight.” (Proverbs 12:22) .
The children of today need to know the truth, and it is the duty of every parent to tell them the truth: that the face you have today is the same face you must present tomorrow. It is not worth destroying your own appearance with drugs, alcohol, and partying, because tomorrow all these things can prevent you from advancing in life. The appearance of many young people looks old due to the use of drugs and alcohol, loss of sleep, and lack of rest, and all these things slowly take a toll on your mental health.
Avoid lies, avoid fights, avoid gossip, and avoid violence. All of this can be avoided when the truth is spoken, when you admit your mistakes and ask for forgiveness, thereby demonstrating true education. Where there is a lie, everyone is harmed—both the one who speaks the lie and the one who is deceived.
Truth comes from God; lies are supported by the devil, the father of lies. Live with the truth.
