A violent event shook the community of Santa Cruz on Wednesday night when a shooting in the parking lot of the Nadi Croes/Crismo Angela stadium left a young person critically injured. Hours later, authorities confirmed the sad news that the victim passed away at the hospital due to their injuries.
The incident took place on Wednesday at around 9:55 PM. At that moment, the police central station received an urgent report regarding a shooting incident at the mentioned location and dispatched police patrols along with an ambulance with maximum urgency.
Upon the arrival of the first units at the parking lot, police found a young male lying on the ground, who had a gunshot wound to his body and was unresponsive. Ambulance personnel provided medical assistance at the scene and transported the victim with maximum urgency to Dr. Horacio E. Oduber Hospital. To facilitate this transfer, police units closed off several roads to ensure the ambulance could reach the hospital as quickly as possible.
