17-Year-old youth fatally Loses his life in a shooting at Palm Beach

In a fatal event that took place during the early hours of Sunday morning, a youth of just 17 years old lost his life after being struck by gunfire in a parking lot in Palm Beach.

This criminal incident was formally reported around 1:18 AM, when the Police Central Dispatch received an urgent notification. According to initial reports, a male individual was showing no signs of life in the parking lot of the Fat Tuesday establishment.

An Aruba Police Force (KPA) unit, along with ambulance personnel, was immediately dispatched to the scene with maximum urgency. Upon the arrival of the paramedics, necessary first aid was provided, but unfortunately, the injuries were of such severity that the victim was no longer responding, and nothing could be done to save his life.

Per official protocol, a forensic doctor arrived at the scene and confirmed the death of the person.

The scene of the incident was immediately cordoned off to allow the Detective Department and the Technical Police (BFTO) to begin a meticulous investigation to gather evidence and clues that could clarify the motive and locate the author(s) of this crime.

In an official update provided by the Police Force, it was confirmed that the family of the deceased had made the official identification. The youth is identified as:

Rayden K.A. Kock

Born in Aruba on July 3, 2008 (17 years of age).

Due to the emotional impact that such a tragedy brings, personnel from the Victim Support Department (Slachtofferhulp) also arrived at the scene to provide the necessary support and guidance to the family during these difficult moments.

The Aruba Police Force expressed their deepest words of condolence and strength to the family and loved ones of the young Rayden.
