“For am I now seeking the approval of man, or of God? Or am I trying to please man? If I were still trying to please man, I would not be a servant of Christ.” (Galatians 1:10).
When you are sure that what you are doing is good in the eyes of God, do not worry about the opinion of man, because people will always criticize you. When you know you are in the will of God, fulfilling God’s purpose for your life, you can let whatever wind wants to blow, just blow away, because people spoke badly even about Jesus.
If the woman who had been suffering from a flow of blood for twelve years had sought the opinion of man instead of touching Jesus’ garment, she would not have been saved and healed. Because when you have faith in God, you must move, for faith without works is dead.
When you know that God is with you, go for what you have to do, because many will criticize and find ways to hinder things, but God in His immense love sustains all those who believe in Him.
If Bartimaeus had stayed quiet and sought the opinion of man, he would not have received his sight; even then, they did not want him to call out to Jesus.
Let us pursue the things that bring peace and the edification of one another.
“The fear of man lays a snare, but whoever trusts in the Lord is safe/exalted.” (Proverbs 29:25).
“Anxiety in a man’s heart weighs him down, but a good word makes him glad.” (Proverbs 12:25).
“Cast your burden on the Lord, and he will sustain you; he will never permit the righteous to be moved.” (Psalm 55:22).
“Trust in the Lord with all your heart, and do not lean on your own understanding.” (Proverbs 3:5).
We receive God’s approval when we seek God with all our heart in prayer, because we must ask for God’s will to be active in our lives. The will of God is not something we do only when we want to, but something that must live within us constantly.
If you want to do good, expect criticism, rejection, and betrayal from people, because the word of God clearly says in 2 Timothy 3:3 that there are people who haters of good. There are people who want to live constantly in warfare; they are irreconcilable, they do not want to do good, they do not want to respect the opinions of others, and they do not want to see their neighbor move forward.
And those are the things we must teach our children, especially our youth: that you do not have to stop and argue about everything. There are people you just have to walk away from because you have your eyes fixed on a good future, while others are looking for notoriety at your expense.
Let us stand still for a moment and look closely at who is directing our lives: the world or God? Money or the power of God? Because whatever dominates you is what directs your life. And you have to take that into account.
When Nehemiah wanted to do good and rebuild the walls of Jerusalem, three enemies confronted him to stop him from fulfilling the vision God had given him. They were Tobiah the Ammonite, Sanballat the Horonite, and Geshem the Arab (Nehemiah 2:17-20). They had an evil spirit and mocked him, but when they realized he was serious, they fiercely opposed the plan.
